Diploma gateway, FS, IAG updates
The results of the Gateway 3 applications were published on 6th April. The South East Consortium was successful in gaining approval for all three lines that it applied for. The Sport and Active Leisure has gained approval for delivery in 2010, provided that the consortium meets the conditions set out within the next three months. These conditions centre around ensuring that our delivery plan has tied employers in to the relevant aspect of the diploma and that the consortium has mapped how the facilities will be used to ensure effective delivery. Both the Hospitality and Hair and Beauty applications were approved for a 2011 start. There were also conditions attached to these applications, which again centre around ensuring our delivery model is fully worked through.
The IAG audit will take place on the 7th and 8th May - a draft programme has been worked out and shared with the implementation group, who will confirm the arrangements at the start of term 4.
The Schools' Minister announced at the beginning of April that Functional Skills in Maths will not be an integrated part of the assessment for the new GCSE specification.
