March 2009
The meeting to scope the IAG audit is on the 1st April. The audit itself will be on 7th May. Gillotts have expressed a willingness to be involved in this process in order to aid with developments to their programme. I will be discussing arrangements with the Implementation Group on April 2nd.The first meeting of the CPD group occurred on the 24th March and discussed the 14-19 reforms and how the CPD group will be engaged with it. In the short term we looked at booking the DCSF briefings for all staff. In the longer term we discussed the implications for performance management and workforce reform.
The examinations officers met on 24th March at Langtree to develop their approach to the Diploma. They asked for copies of the documents thatt he consortium was working on so that they were fully informed of the progress being made. These can be found elsewhere on this site.
Area Board met on the 12th March and agreed to look more carefully at the funding arrangements for the diplomas beginning in 2009. RK agreed to put together a model based on real costs and the progress to date is posted on the site.
The postponed Implementation Group meeting took place on 5th March and the draft protocols that were developed from here are now on the website.
It was followed by the CEIAG meeting and the main agenda item was the Common Application Process. RK has subsequently met with PA to discuss the issues further and is in the process of drawing up an evaluation report and speaking with S-Cool about further arrangements.
The capital bid has been approved and we are expecting the funding in April - see the letter published on the site.
The ELB capital proposal for £2m was turned down. The group of employers who met to develop this are keen to work on the application for the diploma in gateway 4 and would like to begin the preparation for this with an activity for Gifted and Talented learners in the summer - watch this space.
